Somerset £32,979 per year

Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

The Role:

The Senior Family Safeguarding DA Worker (SDAW) is part of a team working with families, where there is an ongoing   history of domestic abuse, to achieve their goals and improve outcomes for families. In addition to your work with individuals and families you are responsible for carrying out a range of other tasks.  These include supervision with workers, practice development, case management, case audits, data base oversight and supporting to deliver this service within a multi-agency team.  You will hold a case load and complete needs led assessments, design and deliver agreed interventions to safeguard adults and children, and broker additional support, where indicated.  The post holder will be confident in their knowledge and responsible for raising awareness of and supporting others in the FST to understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and their children.

Essential Requirements:

Experience supporting women, men and children who have been subject to domestic violence and abuse on 1;1 or group work basis

Experience of providing Case management with DVA workers

Experience of completing and building on strengths, needs and risk assessments

Experience of responding calmly and effectively to people in crisis or emergency

Understanding of domestic violence and abuse issues affecting families

Have a full UK Drivers Licence

Be Female - this is a genuine requirement of the role, in line with the Equality Act 2010.

 

The appointed Senior DA Worker will:

       Work and support the Paragon team to deliver the service in line with the service specification, KPIs and YOU* processes, policies and procedures

*      I provide practical and emotional support to clients experiencing domestic violence and abuse

*       co-produce individual safety and support plans with clients and ensure the SMART actions are carried out

*       complete evidenced based risk assessments, such as the DASH RIC, addressing the risk of harm to each person I work with, their children and wider family (when required)

*       Be part of a team who participates and contributes to MARAC, ensuring any outcomes are communicated to the client and incorporated into any interventions and risk plans

*       work with internal and external partners to advocate on behalf of all victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse

*       develop and maintain effective professional working relationships both internally and externally for the best interests of clients

*       will provide regular supervision with the DVA team and will carry out regular case reviews in line with national recommended case management practice.
