Salary: £17,839.38 per annum (£28,543 FTE)

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time (25hrs)

This role is internally known as 'Frontline Advisor'

To Start: As soon as possible.

YOU is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people across Hampshire and Dorset, giving them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

The ideal Advisor will:

  • Have a good all round legal knowledge, together with specialist knowledge of debt, housing, welfare benefits or employment law.

  • Really listen to their clients and recognise their strengths and skills in being able to solve their own problems.

  • Be positive, can do, flexible in approach and reflective in their practice.

  • Be only interested in excellence where excellence is what matters to the client.

  • Have excellent communication skills

The Role

The Advisor provides advice and support to help the people of Portsmouth and those Portsmouth City Council residents who live in Leigh Park and Weacock Farm to solve their problems. Advice is provided across all social welfare matters and the advisor is a specialist in at least one area of debt, welfare benefits, housing or employment law.

Advice Portsmouth is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am until 5pm, Thursdays from 1pm until 7.30pm and Fridays from 9am until 4:30pm.
