Children and Young Person Violence Advocate (internally known as CYPVA)

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Salary: £13,463.55pa (£29,919pa FTE)

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time (18 hours per week)

Essential Requirements:

  • Must have a driving licence

  • At least 1 years’ experience of delivering a service for Children and Young People.

The appointed Children and Young Person’s Violence Advocate will:

1. have experience of engaging with children and young people at risk of domestic abuse.

2. have experience of engaging with children and young people in the community and in accommodation-based settings.

3. have an understanding of current issues faced by children and young people experiencing domestic abuse.

The Role:

As a Children and Young Person’s Violence Advocate you will work closely with the judicial teams, including CAFCASS, Children's Social Care and others to ensure that children and young people who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse are supported via family court processes. You will provide high quality advocacy and support and engage with local partners. You will prepare reports for court and other meetings such as the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and other victim focused meetings. You will provide one to one sessions and work in close partnerships to build sustainable relationships in our communities.

  • You will work alongside our clients as an equal partner and give advice and guidance at a level matching the person’s skills and strengths.

  • You will develop positive working relationships with the local community and support agencies to create a network of support for your clients.
