The Role

We are looking for a committed and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our Learning Disabilities Service in Waterlooville. Working within a Supported Living environment, you will play a key role in supporting adults with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent and meaningful lives.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide safe, person‑centred support tailored to clients’ individual needs.

  • Lead shifts and act as a point of guidance for Support Workers.

  • Assist clients with personal care, including toileting, when required.

  • Support clients with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining their tenancy.

  • Encourage clients to access the community and engage in activities of their choice.

  • Contribute to support planning, risk assessments and accurate record keeping.

  • Promote independence, dignity and choice in everything you do.

  • Help maintain a positive, empowering environment for both clients and colleagues.

Every day is different, so you’ll need to be adaptable, organised, supportive and confident in decision‑making.

About You

You will be:

  • Professional, proactive and dedicated to delivering high‑quality support.

  • Motivational and encouraging, with a natural ability to lead by example.

  • Confident in working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Knowledgeable about learning disabilities—or eager to learn, with full training provided.

  • Someone who shares and champions our values: person‑centred, innovative, trustworthy, can‑do and excellent.

We also value individuals who celebrate achievements, offer constructive solutions, and promote the excellence of the service wherever they go.

YOU is a Disability Confident employer.

Our Benefits

By joining our team, you will enjoy:

  • Competitive rates of pay and paid travel time, including enhanced mileage for car sharing.

  • Enhanced annual leave, with options to buy and sell holiday.

  • Matched pension scheme contributions, Death in Service Benefit and salary sacrifice options.

  • Enhanced sick pay, compassionate leave and emergency dependent leave.

  • Excellent, professionally certified training and fully‑funded apprenticeship pathways.

  • Genuine opportunities for progression and professional development.

  • Access to a 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme for health and wellbeing support.

  • All equipment required for your role provided free of charge, including mobile phone, PPE, technology and uniform where needed.

  • Access to discounts across a wide range of retailers and online stores.

  • And of course—a warm, supportive team and a good cup of tea or coffee throughout your day!

YOU is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our clients. All applicants will be required to undergo Adult and Child protection screening, including references and a DBS check.

Where a role involves engaging in regulated activity with adults and/or children, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from such work.
