Location: Yeovil, Somerset

Salary: £29,919pa

The appointed Domestic Abuse Worker will:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence

The Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with families affected by ongoing domestic abuse, supporting them to achieve positive change and improve long-term outcomes.

The post holder will be a skilled and experienced practitioner, dual-located across services—primarily embedded within a multi-agency Family Safeguarding Team (FST) in Children's Social Care, with dedicated time within the local Domestic Abuse Team. This structure enables a coordinated, trauma-informed response to complex family needs.

The role requires proactive engagement with the survivor to undertake comprehensive, needs-led assessments. The post holder will design and deliver targeted interventions aimed at safeguarding both adults and children, while also identifying and brokering additional support services where required.

In addition, the post holder will act as a subject matter expert within the Family Safeguarding Team, confidently contributing specialist knowledge of domestic abuse. They will play a key role in raising awareness, building professional understanding, and supporting colleagues to recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and children.

  • Developing positive working relationships with the local community and support agencies to create a network of support for your clients will be central to the work you do.
